Telecommunications and Information Technology: in Pisa, September 4-6, 150 experts meet to contribute to the competitiveness of a sector of crucial importance to the national economy
Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna and University of Pisa jointly organize the annual meeting of the Telecommunications and Information Technology Group (GTTI) Association
The telecommunications sector embraces technologies and systems of vital importance to the country: from telephone networks to data networks (Internet, mobile radio networks, wired Local Area Networks, in Ethernet technology, wireless and WiFi), to equipment for satellite communications and geo-positioning, to telematics systems in general. It also encompasses radar- and satellite-based remote sensing systems and media and multimedia system technologies for processing audio and video signals. In view of the relevance of the topic, being able to count on a time of discussion among leading experts is very important. For this reason, the Group Association of Telecommunications and Information Technology (GTTI), formed by the professors, researchers working in the field of telecommunications and, more generally, in the area of ICT - Information and Communication Technology - at Italian Universities and Italian Research Institutions, promotes annual meetings to have opportunities to compare the state of the field.
This year's Group Meeting will be held in Pisa, September 4-6, organized in collaboration with the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, in particular by Piero Castoldi and Giampiero Contestabile, professors of Telecommunications at the Institute of Telecommunications Informatics and Photonics (TeCIP) and University of Pisa. It is an event attended by about 150 experts and has become over the years a significant meeting point that makes its contribution to the competitiveness of a sector of crucial importance to the national economy.
The meeting is among the initiatives promoted by GTTI at the national level to disseminate culture and to promote research and training in the field of telecommunications and telematics, with the aim of improving the wealth of expertise at the national level and fostering interaction between academia and industry.
